The self-paced training Disciplinary Literacy Training includes 5 modules with approximately 16 hours of content. 

In Module 1, you'll learn about the mindsets and systems that support all students as you are introduced to what it means to provide equitable instruction. 

In Module 2, you'll consider how to integrate the Literacy Instructional Shifts alongside standards in your discipline to provide all students with content that includes complex, grade-level texts. You'll also learn about how to analyze a text for complexity and plan scaffolded text-dependent questions to support students in navigating difficult portions of the text. 

In Module 3, you'll explore strategies to support vocabulary instruction both directly and indirectly. In the second session of this module, you'll learn  about language and vocabulary development for English Language Learners.

In Module 4, you'll dig into the importance of academic discourse in order to deepen students' understanding of text. In the second session, you'll learn many different techniques you can use in the classroom to support speaking and listening. 

In Module 5, you'll deepen your understanding of how knowledge impacts comprehension. You'll also explore how writing can be used as a tool for thinking and learning for all students.
