The New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) Striving Readers Comprehensive Literacy (SRCL) and Comprehensive Literacy State Development (CLSD) team will be holding a statewide virtual convening on May 7th. This convening is an opportunity for subgrantees across the state to learn about best practices, innovations, and strategies in improving literacy for children from birth to 12th grade. The theme for this year’s convening is BUILDING ON OUR STRENGTHS.

This year’s convening will be a bit different, as most things this past year have been. The LIVE virtual keynote, presented by NMPED Teaching, Learning, and Assessment Bureaus will be held from 9:00am – 10:00am on Friday, May 7th. Pre-recorded videos will be uploaded to NMPED Canvas for grant coordinators, teachers, literacy specialists, family engagement coordinators, and other literacy team members to view the sessions during PLCs or at their leisure. We hope the virtual convening will allow more flexibility to presenters and attendees.
