Full course description
We acknowledge that we cannot possibly teach the totality of the knowledge and skills used to create high quality virtual learning experiences. Each of us will bring our own funds of knowledge to this unprecedented challenge facing us as educators. The intention of this training is to come together as a learning community and share in the burden. While it is intended as a self-paced training without a facilitator, it was designed from our synchronous 4hr training workshop with much of the same content.
In creating this training and its accompanying synchronous workshop, we aim to explicitly name and model using tools and strategies that apply to K-12 classrooms. The interactive components of the synchronous workshop have been modified to the self-paced learning environment where appropriate.
Our goal is to help you kick off the school year with the ability to think about the different ways you can use both synchronous and asynchronous tools to support:
- student and family engagement/communication
- differentiated instruction
- collaborative learning
- the social-emotional components of teaching right now for both teachers and students
